help with sql query for a result that contains a question mark

Hello,

I am looking for a way to get a result that contains a question mark. Right now, teradata is treating the '?' as a searchable parameter instead of a character.

For example the table below

UserPhone device_name
Robert1234567890Rob's phone
Steve9876543210Steve?s ipad
John654123798Johns GS3

my query currently looks like this.

select

User

From logondb

Where Decive_name = 'Steve?s ipad'

Re: help with sql query for a result that contains a question mark

From SQL Assistant's help:

To switch off parameter substitution
1 Select Tools > Options.

2 Select the Query tab.

3 Clear the option Allow use of Named Parameters in queries.

Note: If an empty string is entered, or the Cancel button is used, the query is left unchanged. This allows for those rare cases where SQL Assistant incorrectly identifies a regular part of the query as being a parameter name.
