presto-to-teradata authentication

Hello,

I have noticed that during teradata connector configuration, the teradata.properties file required a username and password:

connector.name=teradata
data-exchange.server.port=21338
data-exchange.coordinator.host-and-port=**bleep**.xx.x.xx:21338
teradata.connection.url=jdbc:teradata://**bleep**.xx.x.xx
teradata.foreign-server-name=p2t
teradata.connection.user=someuser
teradata.connection.password=*********
teradata.debug-enabled=true

Does that means that all queries will be executed under this user? Is there a way to use kerberos integration with active directory when connecting to TD?

Thanks,

Charles

Re: presto-to-teradata authentication

Hi Charles,

Yes, for QG 1.x, all queries are executed with the user you specify for the connection. Similarly, there's no impersonation for Kerberos; one superuser is used to connect to Teradata. QG 2.0 may have support for that, check the docs for that product.

Best,

Christina
