Connect to TDE using a client in the host system

Hi everyone,
I would like to ask you how I can access the database in the VM from a client (TD Studio) install in the host system.
I could only do it in one way:
- Setting the Network Adapter to "Bridge"
- Disconnecting my laptop from the company network
I think it should be a way to do it with NAT and staying connected to the company network. Maybe using some rerouting or port forwarding.
Any help will be highly appreciated.

Paul

Hi.

NAT should work OK if you configured the virtual network OK.

My preferences are to disable DHCP and set the virtual network manually (the vmware net configurator helps here) to avoid IP conflicts.

Check if your physical company network shares IP addresses with the virtual (192.168...).

Cheers.

Re: Connect to TDE using a client in the host system

Hi Carlos,

thanks for the quick answer.

I forgot to give a couple of details.

I am using TDE 15.10 running on Virtualbox.

I migrated the image becuase we are not allowed to use VMware on our company laptops.

NAT supposed to work but it doesn't

What I did to overcome this issue was to create a forwarding rule as follows:

TDE Port Forwarding Rules.JPG

That finally worked and now I am able to connect to TDE using Teradata Studio installed in my host windows 7 laptop connected to the company network.

Thanks for your help.
