Adjusting Heap Size in Teradata Studio

I recently upgrade to Teradata Studio 16.00.01 and now 16.00.02.  In prior versions, I'd use the TeradataStudio.ini file to adjust -Xmx, -XX:MaxPermSize, and -Xms, increasing the memory allocated to Teradata Studio and the Java engine.  After the 16.00.02 upgrade, I went to make the change and I found that -XX:MaxPermSize no longer exists in the ini file, and increasing the -Xms and -Xmx doesn't seem to change the allocated space.

Can anyone tell me whether this adjustment has been bypassed?  Or maybe a new method to increase memory is now in effect?

Re: Adjusting Heap Size in Teradata Studio

This isn't a TD Studio question, it's really a Java question.

WIth JDK8 use -XX:MaxMetaspaceSize instead of -XX:MaxPermSize

Also can use -XX:NewSize in place of -Xms and  -XX:MaxNewSize in place of -Xmx

Just wondering: in what kind of situations would you want to increase the heap size?
