I am new to Teradata studio. Can someone please help me with this error that appears under Teradata SQL History window when I open SQL editor?
Plug-in com.teradata.datatools.sqldev.history was unable to load class com.teradata.datatools.sqldev.history.view.History
I am unable to see errors in my statements when writing SQL.
Do apologies if I have not provided enough information as I am new to all this.
Thank you for your help.
Sameer, Are you using roaming profiles? It looks like the configuration information is being stored on a network drive that is possibly no longer available? Can you try launching Studio with the -config and -data command line options and provide a location for the config directory and workspace file.
Hi...sorry I couldn't get abck to you before as I was off from work due to a personal emergency.
Can you please guide me how do I launch it via command line?
I tried installing same version of Java as my colleagues (it works for him) but it still didn't work.
I came across this error that I found in the .eclipse folder on my C drive, not sure if that could be of help (attached)

Sameer, Please refer to the Readme on the Studio Download page. You would locate the install location of Studio and enter TeradataStudio.exe -data <workspace location> -configuration <configuration location>. The above error looks like you are trying to run the 64-bit version of Studio with the 32-bit version of the JRE. These need to match.
Thank you for getting back to me. There are few things I am not sure about:
Do apologies for so many questions but I am not sure where else I can get support from to fix this issue? Is there any Teradata Studio support number that I can call?
Samer, The 64-bit version will install in C:\Program Files\Teradata... The 32-bit version will install in C:\Program Files (x86)\Teradata... directory on the Windows platform. So what version did you download? The download zip should indicate win64 or win32.
Hi, thank you so much for assisting me with this.
I just double checked. Location where the program is installed is: C:\Program Files\Teradata\Client\15.10\Teradata Studio nt-x8664
and the zip file I downloaded from the site is: TeradataStudio_win64x86.15.10.01.01
When you ran the setup.exe, it should prompt you for the location of your JRE. Did it find a 64-bit JRE? Can you send me what the contents of your TeradataStudio.ini file? It is located in your install directory. Are you able to launch Studio from your desktop icon?
It did prompt and did find the correct 64-bit JRE automatically.
I have attached the TeradataStudio.ini and yes I am able to launch it from desktop icon.
