I am using a 64 bit PC and attempting to install Teradata Studio Express14.00 and receieving following error:A Java Runtime Environment (JRE) or Java Development Kit (JDK) must be available in order to run Teradata Studio Express. No java virtual machine was found after searching following locations:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Teradata\Client\14.00\Teradata Studio Express\jre\bin\javaw.exe in current path
With regard to java folders I see the "javaw.exe" file in the following locations:
C:\Program Files (x86)\java\jre1.8.0_74\bin
But file not in above location when searching Teradata Studio Express folder
C:\Program Files (x86)\Teradata\Client\14.00\Teradata Studio Express\other folders but no jre folder present
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.
It looks like you may have downloaded the 32-bit version of Teradata Studio Express instead of the 64-bit version. Also, you will need to download the latest version, revision 15.12, that supports JRE 1.8.
I’m trying to install Teradata Studio express on my “64-bit windows 10 home pc” and access client Teradata.
The installation looks like unsuccessful, I have installed jre-9.0.1_windows-x64_bin.exe and installed TeradataStudioExpress__win64_x86.16.20.00.00.zip . while installing TeradataStudioExpress at the end it gave me an error saying can not create desktop shortcut you can create it manually.
When I open the Teradata going to my programme files (C:\Program Files\Teradata\Client\16.20\Teradata Studio Express nt-x8664) it gives me an error ( An error has occurred. See the log file c:\User\<username>\.eclipse\2075890923_win32_win32_x86_64\configuration\1513184121231.log)
I'm i missing something? do i have to istall odbc drivers for teradata before installing express studio?
