Batch queryman (windows) - how to pass dynamic parameter

I'm trying my first batch queryman (cmd line for it will be within a larger bat file). I will be using the -f option.
Within the it will be executing a macro with parameters. I need to set a variable within the outer batch file and have those values passed to queryman to be used as the parameters to the macro.

I think I know how to handle it within unix (export then use ${variable} in the script) but haven't been successful within windows/dos.

Any assistance/examples would be appreciated.
