Connecting TMM using a CNAME

I am using Teradata Mapping Manager successfully with Teradata Express and I would like to begin using it with our Development Teradata installation. In development we use cnames instead of an IP address. I can use a cname or ip using the jdbc driver for Teradata so it does not appear to be a limitation in the driver. But when I attempt to use the cname with TMM it appears that you edit for an IP address. Is there a way to connect using a cname?

Re: Connecting TMM using a CNAME

TMM currently requires an IP address to connect to Teradata. It is on our future "wish list" of requirements to create functionality similar to ODBC Administrator for TMM that would allow the use of DNS names in addition to IP addresses. This feature has not been scheduled at this time, but it is feedback like this that we use to prioritize future release requirements.

How difficult is it to use IP addresses instead of cnames in your environment?

Re: Connecting TMM using a CNAME

What's the JDBC port used by the driver? I do not see the possibility to specify it anywhere. So I guess a default port is used ?

Yes, we are using a default port which is 1025.
