Cpu skew of Fastload

Hi all,

We use fastload utility and we recognized that the cpu skew of Fastload utility is generally so high like around 99%. When the fastload finishes its work,  we make sure that the data of the loaded table is well distributed over amps. So, why the cpu skew of the fastload is so high although the data of the loaded table is equally distributed over amps?

Thanks.

Re: Cpu skew of Fastload

Hi Volvox,

Every loading process consumes system resources in the form of CPU, Memory, and disk space. CPU intensive workload will obviously use more CPU, and during loading a lot of IO is being performed, so high CPU usage can be due to that reason.

Is there any other workload on the system during the loading process?

Thanks for reply.

The point I don't understand is that why cpu skew of fastload is so high rather than cpu usage. I mean it seems that some amps do much work than the other amps although the data is loaded to amps equally.

Re: Cpu skew of Fastload

Is it  set or multiset table. Whether UPI or NUPI  to narrow down the search.

How many nodes, amps, application server, TPA node etc. If it is slow it could be due to network also. Data volume.
