UVSH is a process initiated by Data Stage. I believe that it uses an ODBC connection.

The "DB-" application IDs are Ab Initio loaders, I believe.

Re: DBC.DBQLogtbl Application id meaning/definitions

Hi!

Could you, please, help with the following? Is there anywhere a document or a table, where the meanings of AppId values in DBC.DBQLogtbl are described?

For example, I need to understand, what do the following values mean:

BTEQ

CSCRIPT

DLLHOST

DTEXEC

DTSDEBUGHOST

FASTEXP

ISSERVEREXEC

QVCONNECT32

RSESSION

SQLA

TPTEXP

WEBIRICHCLIENT

WINDDI

WSCRIPT

Thank you in advance for your help.

Re: DBC.DBQLogtbl Application id meaning/definitions

This value comes from the Client Program Name (or Actual Program Name for mainframe CLIv2) subfield in the LogonSource and actual contents will depend on the driver. See appendix B of the Data Dictionary manual.

For ODBC and by default for CLIv2, it should be the executable program name for the process that calls the driver. So there's no "master list" of possible values.

For example, CSCRIPT and WSCRIPT are a Windows scripting hosts; BTEQ, FASTEXP, SQLA, and WINDDI are Teradata client programs and TPTEXP is the TPT Export Operator; WEBIRICHCLIENT is SAP BO; QVCONNECT is QlikView; DTEXEC, DTSDEBUGHOST and ISSERVEREXEC are SSIS; etc.

Thanks a lot, Fred!

Will create a local table with meanings for relevant AppIDs we are getting. We need this to demonstrate our system objects usage across users, departmetns and applications.

Thank you!
