Issues in Multiload

Hi ,

I have senario like , I have created the PRODUCT table and i have defined the NUPI on (Product_id, Part_id ) Columns.

Now I want to populate the data into this PRODUCT table using MLOAD. In my source data is comma delimited file , thats having lot of duplicate records.

Is it possible to force MLOAD to load the data in this scenario.

Re: Issues in Multiload

Ya Exactly... I want to load the duplicate records.

Since we all know MLOAD will allows the duplicate records, But in my senario is different. I have referential integrity in my Table.

Re: Issues in Multiload

in mload create table as MULTISET table... then it will allow duplicate value to the table....

TABLE

create multiset table job_grades
(
gra varchar(20),
lowest_sal integer,
highest_sal integer
)
primary index(gra)
index(lowest_sal)
;

RECORDS:(last 3 row are duplicated)

A1000050000
B1000060000
C1000070000
D2000060000
E1000080000
F3000060000
H5000090001
A1000050000
B1000060000
D2000060000

. IMPORT 1 Total thus far
. ========= ==============
Candidate records considered:........ 10....... 10
Apply conditions satisfied:.......... 10....... 10
Candidate records not applied:....... 0....... 0
Candidate records rejected:.......... 0....... 0

17:39:05 UTY0818 Statistics for table job_grades:
Inserts: 10
Updates: 0
Deletes: 0

Target table 1: job_grades
Number of Rows Error Table Name

Re: Issues in Multiload

Hey Sheeba ,
Thanks for your response , thats okay , But thats not my scenario,

So I have created the table with NUPI which will have referential Integrity constrtaint.

Now Is it Possible in Mload to load the dupklicate records ... this is my question...

Re: Issues in Multiload

MultiLoad will attempt to load the duplicate records. What happens then depends entirely on whether the result violates any constraint, either explicit or implicit, that has been defined on the table. If the table was created as a SET table explicitly or by default, then it has an implicit uniqueness constraint. Records that would cause a uniqueness violation are rejected and logged to the MultiLoad job's "UV" error table.

Re: Issues in Multiload

Hi
we can load duplicate records using mload if the table has referintial integerity of soft RI type with MULTISET option.

Cheers,
