Namenode service for High Availability for Cloudera

Hi All,

Thanks for all your previous help.

We have a Cloudera (CDH) Hadoop cluster. The clster is High Availability (HA) enabled. We are trying to export data from Teradata to CDH Hadoop cluster. We are using HDFS API with Export and DataConnector operator specifying HadoopHost attribute. So, HDFS API will be used.

For Hortonworks (HDP) specifying HadoopHost='default' in any High Availability enabled cluser will use NameNode Service and active name node will be used. In case of name node switchover, active name node will be used taken automatically.

But, in case of Cloudera cluster, specifying HadoopHost='default' is not working and we have to specify the Name Node HostName and hence, in case of name node switchover, jobs are failing.

So my question is:

1) Whether HadoopHost='Default' works for Cloudera distribution as well?

2) Whether we need to specify in some other way to utilize name node service for high availability cloudera cluster?

Please help us in this regard.

Thanks in advance.

Arpan.
