No. of sessions in mload.

I have read below word somewhere for first steps in Multiload

Start all sessions #AMPS + 2

Does that mean that total sessions for mload must be no of amps plus two.if it is then what process we do on two Amps...?
Please clarify.

Thanks in Advance

Re: No. of sessions in mload.

MultiLoad uses 2 SQL sessions (for control and logging, respectively) plus a variable number of load sessions, which is specified by the SESSIONS parameter in the BEGIN MLOAD control statement. The maximum number of load sessions that may be used is equal to the number of AMPs in the system.

Re: No. of sessions in mload.

Thanx for quick response Jim,
But i have one issue and that is those 2 sessions are for control & logging then these 2 sessions must be used for fastload & Tpump as well. But i never saw anyhting like no. of sessions required would be no of Amp's +2 in fastload & Tpump .
Please let me know your comments on it..

Thanx in Advance

Re: No. of sessions in mload.

The session usage for FastLoad is the same as for MultiLoad. TPUMP only uses SQL sessions, and AFAIK does not require extra sessions for control or logging.
