TPT Restartability

Hi,

I would like to know if there is a way in which i can disable TPT restartability, each time TPT executes i would like to run it from the beginning and it should not restart from the last checkpoint.

I found that deleting the checkpoint files makes it restart from the beginning but wanted to know the alternatives by which it can be disabled in the script without deleting the checkpoint files.

Thanks & Regards,

Re: TPT Restartability

Use the -s 1 command line option.

It forces the job to delete the checkpoint restart files and start from the first job step.

There is no script command.

And you HAVE to delete the checkpoint restart files in order to start from the beginning.

We added "delete checkpoint files" to the internal processing when the -s command is used.

Re: TPT Restartability

Thanks Steve, that works.

Alternatively i started executing the TPT scripts with the job name as argument and later delete the logs and checkpoints created by the tpt scripts.

$TPT_PATH/tbuild -f $SOURCE_TABLE.ctl $TPTJOBNAME

rm $TPTCHECKPOINTPATH/$TPTJOBNAME

This way restart was not happenings, but -s 1 is a straight forward approach.

Thanks,
