TPT10516 Restart log table indicates previous job already completed

Hi Support Team,

I have a shell script that has multiple statements where I have 2 tpt job steps that loads a temporary table in 1st step and final table in 2nd step.  I have 2 separate tpt scripts, 2 separate job variable files.  But the tpt script failing in the 2nd script with the below error.

"TPT10516   Restart log table indicates previous job already completed"

I have checked Teradata common messages and found the below remedy.

Remedy:

Perform these steps: 1. If this is the expected result, then there is no corrective action and you can stop here. 2. If you want the job to continue, verify the restart log table name. If the restart log table name is incorrect, correct the restart log table name and re-run the job. 3. If the restart log table name is correct and you want the job to continue, drop the restart log table and re-run the job.

My Question is:  Should we add a drop restart log table in the script between 2 tpt job statements? or should I have a separate checkpoint file for these 2 job statements?

Thanks in Advance,

Meta

Each TPT job should have its own unique jobname and ordinarily each step should have its own log / work / error tables.
