waht is Spoolmode option in TPT script?

Hi All,

Can someone please explain what does this option mean? Nospool or spool  which is advised for extractions involving huge tables with more than 100 million rows.

Check the SPOOLMODE option in the FastExport manual.

In a nutshell: NOSPOOL will avoid creating a huge spool, but locks will be released later.

Hi Ratnam,

Fastexport is used to export data from a Teradata database table. If you want to load some file, to Teradata, you have to use Fastload, or you can also use the TPT load operator. If you want to load an empty staging table from file, you will need to write a simple fastload script and execute it, and the table will be loaded.

you can find a sample Fastload script here:

Re: waht is Spoolmode option in TPT script?

Since the original question was, "What is the SpoolMode option in TPT script?" and we would rather customer use TPT over the legacy utilities, the correct answer is:

There is an attribute for the TPT Export operator called "SpoolMode".

The options are:

Spool

NoSpool

NoSpoolOnly

"Spool" is the default.
