Re: Fastload error

Looking at the code, it seems to indicate that the sizes of the columns in the DEFINE statement is more than FastLoad can send in one buffer to the DBS.

Please send the entire output of the FastLoad job so that this issue can be correctly diagnosed.

Thanks!

Re: Fastload error

Thanks for pointing to the right direction!

There were 300 plus columns with datatype varchar (255) in the DEFINE statement, so it was exceeding the max size. I changed the data types to lower value and it works fine now :)

Re: Fastload error

Varchar(255) looks like a dummy size, is the data from Access or Oracle?
I've seen load file from Oracle with definition like this, load performance was horrible and the target table was much larger than in Oracle, because most columns were NULL.

Changing to an appropriate size and datatype (there might be some columns defined as VARCHAR(255), which are actually CHAR(.) and applying COMPRESS will probably resuklt in better performance.

If the "Number of recs/msg:" in your FastLoad output is close to 1, this will be a BTEQ like speed.
