Scripting Tools for Development

We do a great deal of development for Teradata using Linux and Windows platforms and the application platforms. Almost all of it is using ksh and the base Teradata utilities. When we create scripts for our application, we are using various text editors (Texpad, vi, etc.) We are really looking for something that will accellerate the development of scripts (both ksh and the various Teradata utilitites). I would REALLY like to hear from other people on what their tools they use to do development with in the Teradata environment. It seems that we are using technology based from 1985. Surely there has to be something better than standard text editors.

You can try Atanasoft (http://www.atanasoft.com/). I have used and evaluated Atanasoft and it's really good.
