I frequently work at home and use a VPN set up by my employer to connect to the company network.
When I work at home over the VPN, TPT scripts which run in a reasonable amount of time at work, run 5-10 times more slowly or fail entirely when I run them over the VPN.
Can somebody explain how TPT interacts with a VPN to create this result? I would think that TPT would send the script to Teradata, where it would run at a speed independent of my network connection. I can see that retrieving data may take a while due to decreased network speeds, but I don't understand why running over a VPN would itself cause a job to fail.
