I am using TPT to export data to a file and move into S3 buckets., am curious to know if there is a way to export data and write directly into AWS S3 buckets.
Thanks & Regards,
We are currently developing an Amazon AWS S3 access module that will allow you to move data from S3 directly into Teradata (and vice versa) without landing the data to disk. It is not yet released. It is in its final testing stages. There is no release date set yet.
Is there any documentation regarding AWS S3 Access Module? We are looking forward to using it and please any help regarding this one is appreciated.
Our documentation website has the information.
Look for the Access Module Reference Manual for TTU 15.10.
From the documentation it says,
The Teradata Parallel Transporter operators and the Teradata Access Module for Amazon S3 run on an EC2 instance.
Do we need to spin up an EC2 instance or Teradata takes care of that ?
Is it not cost effective to download the file from S3 to some file share and then load it to Teradata rather than using this module? I don't understand why we have to pay more just to download data when a simple amazon CLI can do.
