Will TPT INSERTER operator lock the target table if an INSERT step fails?

We sometimes see the LOAD operator leave a table in a locked state if the TPT job fails at certain places in the script.  The only solution that works for us is to drop and recreate the table.  But will the INSERTER operator ever leave a table locked?

From extensive tests we have not seen the INSERTER operator leave a table locked.  So far, so good.

No, the INSERTER operator will not leave the table in a locked state.

That is because it uses plain SQL sessions to load the table.

The LOAD operator uses the FastLoad protocol and that protocol requires the table to be locked for the duration of the job.
