Re: how does fastload identify duplicates while loading ???

Hi,

Interesting question :) . For fast load the table must be empty. If we load multiset table in fastload the it throws the duplicated rows.
It must not have SI. I am also interested to know.

There's no particular trick to it. Fastload sorts the table after loading it, and the scan for duplicates is an integral function of Teradata's internal sort utility. The method used to remove duplicates in "distinct" queries is very similar.

Re: how does fastload identify duplicates while loading ???

Hi All,

As Fastload does not allow duplicate records. But how to identify the duplicate records, those records were not loaded in error
tables.Only on the output screen we can see. Please let me know any ideas.

so It means there should be some query with which we can delete the duplicate rows in a table.
