Advantage of Java stored procedures

I read that Teradata 12.0 will allow developers to create stored procedures using Java. What are the advantages of that approach over writing stored procedures in "native" Tetadata SQL?

What kind of tools do you need to use in creating Java SP's? Does Teradata 12.0 provide its own development environment or can you use any Java development environment?

I haven't been able to find the reference manuals for Teradata 12.0 Java stored procedure development. Can somebody give me the link to it?

TIA,
Nolan

You may find answers to all your questions in the orange book titled "Teradata_Java_Stored_Procedure_User's_Guide"... You can download this from teradata.com after registering for Teradata@your service or try browsing sql reference manual on Stored procedure and Embeded sql
