SEVERAL DATABASE INSTANCE AND SEVERAL NODES CONNECTED THEMSELF

WE HAVE GOT 4 5450 H AND 6 5380 WITH 6843-4000 DISK ARRAY LSI, ALL NODES HAVE RAN WITH THE SAME MP-RAS VERSION 3.03. WE ARE LOOKING FOR IF IT'S POSSIBLE TO CONNECT THESE 10 NODES WITH A ONLY ONE BYNET AND DESCRIBE 3 DATABASES INSTANCE(DEV,INT,RE7) LIKE VMWARE. ONE PHYSICAL ENGINE AND SEVERAL VIRTUAL SERVER.
OUR IDEA IS SWAPPING DURING THE WEEK-END, THESE 3 DATABASES INSTANCES TO A ONLY ONE AND HAVE THE SAME CAPACITY AS OUR OPERATIONNAL ENGINE.

Re: SEVERAL DATABASE INSTANCE AND SEVERAL NODES CONNECTED THEMSELF

It is not possible to mix multiple TPA instances across a single BYNET. The PDE BYNET Network Services that provide message passing, global signaling and coordination of work do not support multiple instances of Teradata on the same physical network. If the nodes are on the same BYNET they must belong to the same single instance of the Teradata database.
