Spool alert setup

Is it possible to set up an alert when peak spool/spool for a user goes beyond a certain value? P.S. Viewpoint version i want to set up it on is 14.01

(I read in these forums this is possible on 14.10 onwards) But is there a workaround for 14.01?

For example, if I want to abort an unimportant query because it is hampering the performance of other SAS queries causing spool out issues.

Re: Spool alert setup

The spool for a session has always been visible in the Query Monitor and other Query portlets, but the alert was added in Viewpoint 14.10 as you indicated.  There's no workaround to get this functionality in 14.01.  I would suggest you upgrade to 14.10 if this is a feature in which you're interested.

Thanks Stever!

But is it possible to set up a spool threshold filter in TDWM?

Re: Spool alert setup

Yes, there are exceptions for Spool Rows and Spool Usage (in bytes) in TDWM.

@Steve

What do you mean by Spool Rows?

Re: Spool alert setup

Spool Rows is the count of the rows put into spool for a query.  Spool Usage is the amount of space that these rows consume.
