This sounds like a bug, you'll probably need to open an incident with TD support.
At first i suggest you delete and re-create the alert from scratch.
For aborting a session you should click and check the proper setting button.
If this will not solve the issue. Take the VP version info, the support bundle and open an incident.
Hope this helps
Recreate alert didn’t help.We are on latest Teradata version 16.20 DB and Teradata Viewpoint 16.20.00.What do you mean by proper settings.I did it for a user(myself before applying to adhoc profile) and action as abort for mor than n mins
I found it was not logging into DBQL thought we have query logging for viewpoint but i cant see any abort staement.I was aborting the session as I no more see the idle session in query monitor. It was also logging it to alert viewer.Any idea where I can see sessions which were aborted by viewpoint
I also observed user is not getting disconnected and get new session for next query(after last idle session was aborted by viewpoint)
So I think you're saying that the user is not getting logged off. So there is no row in LogonOffV as described above for the session in question. (my apologies if I've misunderstood you).
If that is true then I think you need to raise an incident with Teradata support.
