I am new to Teradata, could you pls explain why do we get "AMP step failure" error while executing BTQs through some of the job.
Temporary Fix: We reset the aborted job and resubmitted then completed successfully.
But wanted to know the permanent solution to fix this.

I may not able to provide you SQL query.
If we just rerun the same failed bteq without any modification in it, thn its getting success.
When we run it second or third time we dont get that error again but might get same error with another bteq.

Unfortunately you have encountered a software bug. Please have your Teradata DBA/admin folks raise an incident to Teradata to investigate and repair it.
