How teradata get a row via UPI, PPI, USI, NUSI?

Hi to all!

Sorry for my bad english.

Can you help me to find the documentation which describes how Teradata retrieves the row using the UPI, PPI, USI, USI? I found just when accessed through the teradata UPI scans the master index, then the cylinder index, then the data block, and finally retrieves the string. In other cases, will Teradata also use master index and cylinder index?

Thanks a lot for help!

This information is documented in the Database Design manual. The chapters for the various types of indexes include a detailed description of how the data is accessed via such an index.
