I have the below questions about peak perm .We are on 16.20 Teradata Software .
1.Is it always necessary to reset the peakperm to 0 ?
2. if we do not reset peakperm to 0 does that effect the skewness of the table ?
3.Advantages and disadvantages of reseting the peakperm to 0 ?
No, you do not need to reset PeakPerm to 0 unless you are using it for monitoring/reporting purposes.
No, not resetting PeakPerm (or resetting it) will not affect skewness of the table. That is ONLY affected by your data and the Primary Index. PeakPerm is simply for reporting.
It is there to give you an idea of the highest amount of perm space used by a table/database on any AMP. It is simply for reporting purposes.
I am new to this communit and trying to start a new subject but not sure how to. Its around connectivity using Integrated security. Can anyone provide directions on how to start a new thread?
Go to 'Product Forums / Discussions / Teradata Database and Data Warehousing / Connectivity'
Click on 'Start a Topic' (top-right corner -ish).
