Problem with the FASTLOAD - LOCK

Hi All,

I am trying to run FASTLOAD Utility through BODS (DI). Process is throwing an error like "exceeded max error limit" and BODS (PARENT) process is getting completed. But FASTLOAD is holding LOCK on the taget table and even I am not able to do a select on the target table ( TABLE is being LOADED ).

We have tried to run a dummy FASTLOAD script to unlock the table, but it was not working. Getting error message like "Error tables are in invalid status or target table is in invalid status".

Any help is much appreciated.

Regards,
Sudhakar

Re: Problem with the FASTLOAD - LOCK

It looks like this case: https://developer.teradata.com/tools/articles/teradata-utility-error-handling/teradata-utility-error... Has your error tables same name?

Restart after client failure

A Fastload job can be restarted after a client process failure. In this case the error tables and target tables must be in the state they were in when the failure occurred, therefore, a restart script must not in-clude the actions to drop error tables, drop target table and create target table. The following is an example of the restart script.

LOGON test/testuser,test;

SET RECORD FORMATTED;
DEFINE FILE=C:\DataIntegration\Data\tran1.dat;
SHOW;
BEGIN LOADING TEST.TRAN
ERRORFILES TEST.TRANFLERR1, TEST.TRANFLERR2
CHECKPOINT 50000
INDICATORS;
INSERT TEST.TRAN.*;
END LOADING;

LOGOFF;

Re: Problem with the FASTLOAD - LOCK

The "dummy" script must reference the same combination of target and error tables as the failed script.
