IDENTITY column reset to 1?

I have a table that was created with an Identity column as GENERATED ALWAYS, START WITH 1, INCREMENT WITH 1, it has a min and max value and NO CYCLE to ensure uniqueness.

Before loading data to this table, we do a DELETE ALL and load next month's worth of data.  Is there a way to have this column start by 1 every month after it has been cleared.  Or am I to understand that the only way to do that would be to issue the DROP statement before every load.  That's how it seems to be working for me right now as I am testing.

Thanks for any feedback!

Re: IDENTITY column reset to 1?

You can't reset an identity in Teradata.

But why do you need a sequence at all?
