Teradata VM 16.20- Cannot start database

We have downloaded the OVA from the below link

https://downloads.teradata.com/download/database/teradata-on-vmware-developer-tier-preconfigured

File name Teradata_Database_DT_16.20.07.01_SLES11_SP3_on_VMware_20180511145757.ova

Deployed the template to create a new Virtual machine.

Changed the computer name

Disabled DHCP and assigned a manual IP.

The documentation for the install mentions the below files that will need to be edited but we cannot find them on the VM server or with the download from the link. The download only gives us the *.ova file.

common.IT.properties.json

Defines the VMware vSphere configuration settings common across

Teradata Database on VMware VMs. Configure the values in this file

each time something in the virtual environment changes.

If you have multiple VMs on one VMware vSphere server, the

common.IT.properties.json

properties file is unique for each VM.

nodeIT.properties.json Defines the specifications needed by the deployment executable file

to install and configure the VMs. Define the values in this file for each deployment.

I can log into the OS with the root user but get the below msg when trying to start the database.

jgdevteradata:/ # /etc/init.d/tpa start
Teradata Database Initiator service is starting...
Teradata Database Initiator service failed with 4 exit code

Is there any other config file that needs to be updated or have we missed a step with the setup of the VM?

Thanks

Brenton

Follow the steps in the "Getting Started Guide" found at that same link.

Or go back to the main "downloads" page and use the other template & corresponding guide (not "preconfigured").
