Teradata Developer Tools for Visual Studio 16.20

We are pleased to announce general availability of the Teradata Developer Tools for Visual Studio 16.20.
This product may be integrated with Visual Studio 2012, 2013 or 2015 and can be downloaded from the following locations:

Alternatively, you can use the Extensions and Updates item on the Tools menu in Visual Studio to download it directly from within Visual Studio.

Overview

This release of the Teradata Developer Tools for Visual Studio focuses primarily on support for Teradata Database 16.20 and an assortment of fixes and minor improvements.

 

New Features

  • Support Visual Studio 2017.
  • Improved integration with Visual Studio color themes.
  • Added a function to format the SQL for easier reading.
  • Added support for using tabs vs spaces, Tabify and Untabify commands.
  • Support new Teradata 16.20 features.

Bug fixes

  • Corrected outlining for Merge and Insert/Select statements.
  • Corrected an issue with displaying the properties of a Database or User.
  • Corrected the Find function when the search text is within selected text.

Conclusion

This tool will allow you to develop the SQL required for your applications without leaving the Visual Studio environment. However it should be noted that the tool is not a replacement for SQL Assistant or Teradata Studio. These other tools still have more/different functionality than the Teradata Developer Tools.

Hi Mike, trying this out, however getting an error when using the explorer tree and expanding a database:

[Teradata Database] [5628] Column StorageFormat not found in dbc.ColumnsV.

 

Previously I had 15.10 extension. Now 16.00.

 

Connecting to TD 14.10 via 15.10 TTU.

Ignore above. After an update on Visual Studio the error went away.
