Re: Teradata Studio products - choosing the right client tool

The Java memory settings can be changed in the TeradataStudio.ini file, in your install directory. You can also export your result set directly to Excel, avoiding the time to display 2 million rows in the Result Set Viewer. The option for Export Mode is on the SQL Editor toolbar or in the SQL Handling preference page.

A registry hack to get Kerberos to work is not an acceptible solution as a lot of users do not have write access to the registry. WHen will this be fixed???? We need true SSO support

Re: Teradata Studio products - choosing the right client tool

Cameron, As you mention, the process does require the Windows user to modify a setting in the registry. We have your RFC request for this to be more automatic and will access from development and product management to see when it can be delivered.

Which version of Studio support SQLSERVER connection?

Re: Teradata Studio products - choosing the right client tool

@mvn, They all do. To enable SQL Server connection type to show up in the Connection Wizard, go to the Preferences>Teradata Datatools Preferences>New Profile Connection Types and make sure the SQL Server box is checked.

Re: Teradata Studio products - choosing the right client tool

Hi,

My Hadoop connection to Hive from Teradata Studio Express disconnects frequently if kept idle. Any workaround to this? I can't find any such relevant functionality in the tool.

Re: Teradata Studio products - choosing the right client tool

Adil, What is the exception that you are getting on Studio Express side? Are there any errors logged in Studio Express? Are there any errors on the Hadoop from Hive services?

Re: Teradata Studio products - choosing the right client tool

Adil, There are several timeout properties for Hive, for example

socket timeout, session timeout, server timeout etc etc. If you logon through Ambari, you can search for timeout values.
